Welcome to Hitch Tracker. Your privacy is our highest priority. This policy outlines how your data is handled within the application.
Hitch Tracker is a fully offline, client-side utility application. We do not collect, transmit, upload, share, or sell any of your data or personal information. Everything you input stays strictly on your physical device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Because the app runs completely local to your device, we do not have access to, monitor, or collect any data you enter, including but not limited to:
- Profile Data: Name, scheduling configurations (hitch length, start date).
- Financial Metrics: Daily rates, hourly wages, pay frequencies, overtime rates, or holiday bonuses.
- Certifications & Credentials: Expiration dates, card names, and reminder preferences for credentials.
- Schedules & Logs: Work history, holiday projections, calendar reminders, or notes.
2. How Data is Stored
All app database logs and structures are stored inside your device's private sandbox memory cache:
- Device-Level Security: The app uses native hardware encryption bridges (via Keychain Services on iOS and Android Keystore enclaves on Android) to safeguard key-value entries.
- Encryption at Rest: No plaintext versions of your profile credentials reside in standard system disk formats.
3. Device Permissions
The app requests the following native device permissions to enable local features:
- Local Notifications: Used to schedule expiration warnings for certifications (e.g., TWIC cards). These alerts are scheduled locally on the device's operating system calendar engine and do not communicate with external servers.
4. Data Deletion and Control
You have total and absolute control over your records. You can permanently erase all data at any time:
- In-App Wiping: Triggering the "Reset App & Erase Data" (or "Delete Account") button in settings wipes all cached profiles, schedules, events, and credentials, and cancels scheduled OS notifications.
- App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the app from your device deletes all local cache database formats (on iOS, hardware keychain storage may persist across uninstalls by system design; we recommend using the in-app "Reset App & Erase Data" button in settings to ensure complete, immediate erasure). This deletion is absolute and irreversible.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect future local features. If we ever integrate optional cloud-based synchronization tools, we will request your explicit opt-in consent before transferring any data.
